YPO Dallas History
YPO was founded in 1950 in New York City by Ray Hickok. By 1953, YPO had established six chapters, including the Texas-Oklahoma Chapter. As North Texas continued to grow, the Texas-Oklahoma Chapter separated into the Texas and Oklahoma Chapters in 1957. This progression continued in 1973 when the Texas Chapter became YPO Dallas and YPO Fort Worth. We are proud to share our history with YPO Oklahoma City and YPO Fort Worth.
Notably, Texas-Oklahoma welcomed YPO’s first female member, Elsie Frankfurt, president of Dallas-based Page Boy Fashions. Today, YPO Dallas honors Elise’s legacy by maintaining one of the highest percentages of women members in the United States.
YPO International has become a global community of over 35,000 leaders across 140 countries and like, YPO Dallas, is committed to the belief that by coming together, we can become better leaders and people.
